These terms apply to every trip booked with Shanyangi Adventures. Please read them together with our Refund Policy and the quotation or confirmation we send you. By paying a deposit you accept these terms on behalf of everyone travelling in your group.
Booking and confirmation
- Every trip starts with a quotation that lists the itinerary, what is included and the price.
- Your booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit and sent you a written confirmation. Until then, prices and availability can change.
- Please check your confirmation carefully and tell us straight away if anything (such as names or dates) is wrong. Names must match passports, as park permits and flights are issued in those names.
Prices
- Prices are quoted in US dollars unless your quotation says otherwise, and are per person sharing unless stated.
- What is included and excluded is listed in your quotation. International flights, visas, travel insurance, tips and personal expenses are not included unless listed.
- Park fees, government taxes and fuel costs are set by others. If they increase after you book, we may pass on the difference, and we will always explain why.
Payments
- A deposit of 30% of the trip price is due to confirm your booking.
- The balance is due 60 days before your arrival. For bookings made less than 60 days before arrival, the full amount is due at booking.
- Payments are made by bank transfer to the accounts shown on your quotation, or by another method we agree in writing. Bank and transfer charges are paid by the sender.
- If a payment is not received on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you, as described in our Refund Policy.
Changes you make
We are happy to adjust your trip when we can. Changes to dates, travellers or the itinerary depend on availability, and any extra costs charged by lodges, airlines or parks will be added. Changing your arrival date may be treated as a cancellation and new booking; see our Refund Policy.
Changes we make
Safaris and mountain climbs depend on nature. Weather, road conditions, park regulations, wildlife movements or safety may require changes to routes, timings, game drives or accommodation. Your guide's decision on safety is final. When a change is needed we will offer an alternative of similar standard. If a change is significant and made before you travel, you may choose a suitable alternative or a refund as described in our Refund Policy.
Passports, visas and health
- Your passport should be valid for at least six months after your trip ends and have blank pages.
- Most visitors need a visa for Tanzania; you are responsible for obtaining it (many nationalities can apply online before travel).
- Check vaccination and health requirements before you travel. A yellow fever certificate is required if you arrive from, or have recently been in, a country with a risk of yellow fever. Please speak to your doctor about malaria prevention.
- We are not responsible for costs caused by missing or incorrect travel documents.
Travel insurance
All travellers must have travel insurance that covers medical treatment and emergency evacuation for the whole trip, including high-altitude trekking if you are climbing Kilimanjaro. We strongly recommend cover for cancellation and lost luggage too. Please bring your policy details with you.
Health, fitness and safety
- Tell us before booking about any medical condition, disability or dietary need that may affect your trip, so we can prepare.
- Kilimanjaro climbs involve high altitude and physical effort. Your guide may stop your climb or ask you to descend if your health or safety is at risk; this decision is final and unused days are not refunded.
- Safaris take place among wild animals. Always follow your guide's instructions, stay in the vehicle unless told it is safe, and keep a respectful distance from wildlife.
Conduct
We ask all travellers to respect local laws, customs, wildlife and park rules. Tanzania does not allow plastic carrier bags, and flying a drone in national parks needs special permits. We may end the trip of anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk or breaks the law, without refund.
Our responsibility
We plan every trip carefully and choose reliable partners. Lodges, camps, airlines and other suppliers are independent businesses with their own terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or failures. Where the law allows, our liability is limited to the price of your trip, and we are not responsible for loss, injury, damage or delay caused by events beyond our control, by your own actions, or by third parties not connected with our services.
Events beyond our control
We are not liable for failing to deliver, or for changing, any part of a trip because of events we cannot control, such as natural disasters, extreme weather, epidemics, strikes, government actions, unrest or airport closures. In such cases we will help you rearrange your trip and follow our Refund Policy.
Photos and reviews
With your permission, we may share photos you send us or reviews you write on our website and social media. You can ask us to remove them at any time. Reviews are checked before they are published.
Complaints
If something is not right during your trip, please tell your guide or contact us straight away so we can fix it while you are still travelling. If you are still unhappy afterwards, write to us within 30 days of the end of your trip and we will reply as quickly as we can.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. We will always try to resolve any disagreement with you directly and fairly first.
